Mikami-kun no Himitsu
Mikami-kun no Himitsu
By: Konatsu (author & artist)
Summary: Well, this is a one-shot. If I summarize this any further there won't be much to read, haha. This is in a high-school setting.
Comments: I love reading romantic comedies. This is a light-hearted read. For this oneshot, I loved reading about the dynamic between the two leads. Would love to read a continuation if there ever is.

The One

Manhua Status: Completed; 110 chapters
Summary: (Taken from mangaupdates) Cane Lele was born into the fashion industry. Her mother, Ye Fei Yi, was Taiwan's top model, and her father was also a model, until a tragic airplane crash left Lele without parents. Therefore, it is no surprise that Lele hates the industry, thinking it superficial and unnecessary.
Raised by her maternal grandmother, Lele reaches seventeen before she is sucked in by her mother's sister, Ye Fei Hong, a fashion model agent (and former model), convinces the reluctant Lele to model. Lele had been adverse to the whole idea, until she sees a photo shoot of popular American model Angus Lanson, and she begins to see modeling as an art form.
When Aunt Fei Hong's magazine editor invites Angus Lanson to a meeting of all the top fashion ambassadors, Lele is invited to meet him and is very curious. She does not know that Angus' twin elder brother, Eros Lanson, is secretly accompanying his brother. This obviously leads to confusion and is the start of a charming story of Lele's goals: fashion in NYC, becoming a top model, and love?
Comments: Just finished reading this, and kind of just know the canon ship as I read it. The love triangle (?) wasn't really there, so I still liked the story. Can't stand wishy washy guys/girls in love triangles. Make up your mind! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
This story is classified as psychological, and yes, to a certain extent this is true. ◕︵◕
I would guess that there really are people who just use people like that. I most probably would have gone mad too. Though through all that, a backstory to the dad would be nice. He seems one dimensional.
By the way, there are GLBT characters in this story, even though it's a shoujo. The theme is pretty mature too.
Overall, my ship sailed, hahaha. So, no complains!

Comment: This is a short one volume manga of 4 chapters. 3 of it is of the main story, the extra is an extra oneshot. Storyline is unique. It's in separate view points! It's just really special, so I'd recommend you to read it for yourself. The friendship bond within Eiko is really strong.
Was surprised to see that Kawahara Kazune is the author. She's the one who wrote Koukou Debut. Which is a much shoujo/fluffly-like story tbh. This one definitely has more depth. I'd think.
So yupp, hope the 2 of them collaborates again soon! :D
The plotline, together with the art, is really awesome.

By: Ichinose Kaoru
Summary: (From mangaupdates) Then she sees the boy she likes getting crushed under her eyes, Maomi leapt and landed into the past ... and landed in second century after J.C!
Historical references to Yamataikoku (邪馬台国) and Queen Himiko.
Comment: A historical oneshot by Ichinose Kaoru!
I love plots like this. It's about past lives linking with our present.
It's like Taylor Swift's Love Story! =]
Recommended. (Y)

Maou Voice
By: Kawaguchi Kei
Summary: (From mangaupdates) In a world where demons and humans are at war, there exists a Demon King, whose voice holds a power that destroys all in its way. When an unusual Hero attacks his castle, what's a Demon King to do other than confess his love? But thanks to meddling minions and the inconvenience of a voice that destroys everything in its path, his confession may not go according to plan...
Comment: This time I'm going to recommend this read! It's a oneshot.
This is a short comedy shoujo manga that I really like.
The Demon King is an airhead and the girl is strong. The end, I think, is not really conclusive of their relationship? Like they didn't show how both of them would end up. Though it's sort of obvious. But it's funny! The way I like my mangas to be. (Y)
Like for stories, I'd hope they would bicker and be on par/competitive with each other. (Yes, I mean make the girl lead strong instead of having to rely on the guy all the time!)
And the guy falling for the girl first. =]]
Back to this oneshot~~~
My favorite character has to be Suzu, the translator of the King!
The way he translates all the things are so funny, lol.

Manga Status: Completed
Summary: Isezaki, a second year from Kamiyama Boy's High, has had his heart captured by a girl he saw in the window of the neighbouring girls' school. A school route madonna!! After 2 months, it's time for her to graduate...?! It's a 17-year-old's summer starting from spring, chockful of idiocy and friendship enough to make you cry. (From Shinnen via mangaupdates)
Comment: A short 2 volume manga which is very slice of life-ish on the characters' growth. There is also slight romance too. It gave me a heartwarming feeling. I really like the interaction between the characters. It made me think a little, about how time passes so quickly.
However, if you're looking for 100% romance, this manga probably isn't for you. But I'd still recommend you to read it!
